It is not possible to provide an average cost of installing a charge point due to a range of factors. The price of the actual chargers depends and varies on their charging capacity with high-powered chargers costing considerably more than slower AC chargers. The costs of the electric infrastructure and connection to the grid also vary significantly in line with the MIC requirements at that location and the connection voltage. The quantum of civil and electrical works required to make the connection to the grid also has a major impact on costs.

As these factors differ from site to site, it is not possible to provide a single representative installation cost. The final cost of any installation is determined on a case-by-case basis following detailed site assessment and network connection studies. Costs may include charger hardware, electrical works, grid connection, civil and construction works, software and communications systems, signage, and ongoing maintenance requirements. Consequently, installation costs can vary considerably across locations and projects.
