View answerThe Revised Estimates 2026 (REV2026) are based on €121.8m in revenue arising from direct TV licence sales in 2026.
While the number of TV licences actually sold in 2026 won't be known until early January 2027, this amount (€121.8m) provides an estimate of the current full year loss of revenue to the State should the TV licence be abolished.
