My Department does not hold data on the number of 'premium' flights that travel through Irish airports, or data in relation to aircraft capacity as outlined by the Deputy. European air carriers operating within the European single market for air transport are not subject to any authorisation from my department. When airlines of third countries seek authorisations from my department to operate to Irish airports, they are not required to submit information on aircraft configuration or capacity.

Any consideration of the introduction of an air travel tax/passenger duty would be a matter for the Minister of Finance.
