Appointments to State boards by my Department are made in accordance with Government guidance, including the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies and the Guidelines on Appointments to State Boards.

This code of practice and guidance for appointments to state boards apply across all Departments and are designed to ensure good governance, independence, and the avoidance of conflicts of interest.

Policy responsibility on governance to state boards comes under the remit of the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation and any legislation governing appointments to state boards is a matter for the Minister of that Department, in the first instance.

I trust this information is of assistance to the Deputy.
