A total of 78,648 were recorded as paying class K PRSI in 2024, the most recent year for which complete PRSI data is available.  A breakdown of PRSI contributors is published annually by my Department, with the most recent report published on July 9th.  The report is available through gov.ie/dsp/statistics.

The value of contributions to the SIF is published each year in the Social Insurance Fund financial statements, and refer to monies collected within the calendar year.  The monetary value of PRSI returned to the Department is not available by PRSI class, but is broken into the broad categories of Employer Contributions, Employee Contributions, and Self-Employed Contributions.  The latest accounts available are from 2024, and are available from the Oireachtas library.
