An Post is a commercial State company with a mandate to act commercially and as such day to day operational matters, including decisions in relation to the size, distribution, and future of the network as well as service provision, are matters for the Board and the management of the company.
Operational matters relating to the network are a matter for the Board and management of An Post and are not matters in which I, as Minister, have a role. This is an operational matter for An Post. As details regarding the Post Office Network are held directly by the company, the Deputy may contact the body directly, at OireachtasEnquiries@anpost.ie.
