The school referred to by the Deputy was approved under the Additional School Accommodation (ASA) Scheme for the provision of a three-classroom Special Educational Needs (SEN) unit.

The project has been devolved to the school authority for delivery. The school is required to submit a Stage 2a report to the Department. Once received, the report will be reviewed in accordance with Departmental requirements and in the context of the priorities and funding framework set out under the National Development Plan.

The accommodation needs at this school will be considered as part of the ongoing overall department-led prioritisation process, in consultation with the school’s patron and school authorities. Progression to the next phase is contingent on the project’s alignment with the National Development Plan.
