At the outset I would like to clarify so that there is no confusion regarding the matter raised, there is no change to the allocation of permanent SNA support to Holy Family NS, issued by the NCSE and advised to the school in June.

The matter raised here relates to a separate temporary scheme of support that was introduced in August 2022 due to the rapidly increasing arrival of Ukrainian and International Protection (IPAS) pupil and was put in place to support schools with large Ukrainian/IPAS enrolments.

The scheme of support has worked well since its introduction and remains in place for the 2026/27 school year.

Schools where 15 or more Ukrainian/IPAS pupils are enrolled are allocated for SNA resources based on a graduated scale of enrolment and is available on Gov.ie

This temporary allocation is reviewed ahead of each school term based on the enrolment thresholds and schools are advised where their enrolments meet the threshold.

The allocation approval letter issued each term clearly outlines to all schools who are entitled to additional temporary SNA resources based on enrolments numbers that the allocation ceased on a specific date at the end of the term.

In the case of the school raise in the question the last allocation of 0.5 of an SNA ceased on the 19/12/2025.

The school enrolment has not reached the threshold of enrolment since that date for an allocation to be made.

As the scheme is predicated on the actual enrolment data in a school at each review date it is therefore not possible to allocated on a temporary basis ahead of the review.
