Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health the findings of the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs 2024 in respect of nicotine pouch use among adolescents in Ireland, which her Department previously indicated would be collected as part of that survey; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The 2024 cycle of the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD) asked questions on nicotine pouches for the first time. It found that 7.6% of respondents had ever used nicotine pouches, with 3.7% having used them in the last 30 days.
