I propose to take Questions Nos. 36 and 150 together.

The General Scheme of the Private Wires Bill 2025 was approved by Government on 16 December 2025. My Department has been engaging with the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel to progress the drafting of the legislation required to establish a private wires regime.

The introduction of a regime to provide for privately owned electricity wires is a priority for this Government. It is intended that the Bill will be introduced later this year and will complete its passage through the Oireachtas as soon as possible thereafter.

Question No. 37 answered with Question No. 35.
