391. Deputy Paul McAuliffe asked the Minister for Social Protection to provide an update on the carer's allowance application of a person (details supplied). [66554/26]
View answerCarer's allowance (CA) is a means-tested social assistance payment made to a person who is habitually resident in the State and who is providing full-time care and attention to a child or an adult who has such a disability that as a result they require that level of care.
An application for CA was received from the person concerned on 12 May 2026.
The application was examined and CA was awarded from 14 May 2026 with the first payment issuing to the nominated Post Office on 24 September 2026. Any arrears due will issue shortly.
The person concerned was notified of this in writing on 17 September 2026.
