Enterprise Ireland (EI) is the government organisation responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets. EI works with enterprises to help them start, grow, innovate, and win export sales in global markets thereby supporting sustainable economic growth, regional development and secure employment. Enterprise Ireland reports employment figures annually, with the most recent data relating to 2025.

In 2025, Enterprise Ireland-supported companies employed 232,425 people across all regions of the country. During the year, these companies created 12,608 new jobs, resulting in a net increase of 2,938 jobs and overall employment growth of 1.3%. Notably, 69% of all new jobs were created outside Dublin, with employment growth recorded in every region.

Employment outside Dublin continues to account for the majority of Enterprise Ireland-supported jobs, with 67% of total client employment now outside Dublin.

The Midlands region recorded employment growth of 3.9% in 2025. Across the four Midlands counties, Enterprise Ireland client companies supported a total of 12,427 jobs with 2,099 jobs in Laois, 4,318 jobs in Offaly, 2,581 jobs in Longford, and 3,429 jobs in Westmeath.
