313. Deputy Michael Lowry asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that the community eye services in the Cashel and Clonmel area of County Tipperary have ceased operations due to the retirement of the ophthalmologist; if a recruitment campaign was initiated to find a replacement for the retired ophthalmologist; when a suitable candidate will be found to replace the retiree; when it is anticipated that the community eye services in Cashel and Clonmel will be fully reinstated; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
