110. Deputy Darren O'Rourke asked the Minister for Justice the number of marked and unmarked Garda cars and vans attached to Garda dog unit as of 22 April 2025; and if he will provide same figures as of 1 April 2021, in tabular form. [21331/25]
View answerI am informed by the Garda authorities that the allocation of additional resources for specialist units within An Garda Síochána, including the Garda dog unit, is reviewed on a continual basis. The purchase and allocation of vehicles is made on the basis of identified operational demands and the availability of resources.
The table below has been provided to me by the Garda authorities and outlines the number of 4x4 vehicles and vans assigned to the Garda Dog Unit as of 1 April 2021 and 28 February 2025, the latest date for when figures are available. Information supplied is operational and subject to change.
