The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is an independent public body established under the Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992, and is entirely independent of the Minister in the exercise of its functions.

The Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation has provided sanction to the EPA to recruit up to 550 staff.

The information requested in relation to the agencies under the aegis of my Department is an operational matter for the Agency and as such the Deputy may wish to contact the Agency directly.

The EPA can be contacted directly using oireachtasqueries@epa.ie for Oireachtas members.
