In Co. Laois, there are currently four schools that are considered base schools for the Supply Panel system. These four schools have a total of eleven supply panel teaching positions covering short term substitution needs across 79 schools in Co. Laois.

In addition to the above, there would also be receiving schools in Co. Laois near county borders, whose base schools lie in other counties.

In forming the Supply Panel clusters, my Department's GIS system identified the receiving schools based on distance from the base school. Teaching posts were allocated to each Supply Panel cluster based on the number of permanent teaching positions in the schools in the cluster and the distance to the base school.

The information requested by the Deputy is attached.
