126. Deputy Naoise Ó Cearúil asked the Minister for Defence the way in which coordination between the Defence Forces, An Garda Síochána and the Irish Aviation Authority is being strengthened to manage drone activity in Irish airspace; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [71851/25]
View answerThe Deputy should be reassured that mechanisms already exist which allow for a Defence Forces response where required, acting in support of An Garda Síochána or in defence of Defence Forces personnel and assets.
The operational judgement of the Defence Forces acting under Government direction applies. As such it would not be appropriate for me to comment further.
