160. Deputy Malcolm Byrne asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if any website or other platform operated by his Department uses an AI-enabled chatbot; if there are plans to use chatbots; in what circumstances; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4838/26]
View answerMy Department does not currently use any Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies enabled chatbots on our websites.
My Department recently completed a proof of concept with EY on the viability of using AI, with Microsoft Co-Pilot on housing data. The lessons learned from this pilot project will be utilised in the future. At present we are finalising an AI policy that outlines the framework for the legal, secure and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the Department.
