1160. Deputy Colm Burke asked the Minister for Health if a temporary reimbursement code will be issued for unlicenced salbutamol nebules under the GMS/DPS scheme given the severe stock shortage of the medicine available for reimbursement under the GMS/DPS scheme at present, in view of the fact this is an essential medicine for asthma patients; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines and medical devices; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
