Written answers

The use and distribution of veterinary medicinal products (VMPs) in Ireland is governed by Regulation (EU) 2019/6 and is directly applicable throughout the EU, including Northern Ireland. If Veterinary Medicinal Products have the appropriate marketing authorisation for Northern Ireland or have been granted a Special Import Certificate by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate in the UK, there are no restrictions on the movement of these goods from Ireland to Northern Ireland by licensed wholesale distributors who must comply with the conditions of their wholesale distribution authorisation.
