My Department was re-configured as the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport at the beginning of June 2025. The details sought by the Deputy for the current functions under the remit of my Department are set out in the tables below.

Regarding Creative Arts funding, my Department publishes all payments on its website in tabular form for each county on an annual basis once they have been prepared for publication. Accordingly, a full list of all capital payments for 2023 and 2024 can be found at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/publications/creative-arts-grants-and-funding-previous-schemes/. The list of capital payments for 2025 is currently being finalised and tabulated for publication and it is planned to publish it on the Department’s website at the above link by the end of February.

In Budget 2026, the Department was allocated €6m for a new programme of capital funding for arts and culture organisations across the country, in line with the commitment in the Programme for Government. The Department is in the process of designing the specifications of the scheme, including the setting of eligibility criteria.

My Department also runs the pilot Artist Workspaces Scheme which was launched in June 2024 with a total fund of €6 million to enable local authorities increase the provision of Artist Workspaces across Ireland. Capital grants up to a maximum of €300,000 may be made available to larger urban local authorities, with grants up to a maximum of €150,000 being made available to the remaining local authorities. The maximum grant available will be 60% of the eligible costs. Details of grants awarded to date can be found at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/publications/creative-arts-grants-and-funding/#artist-workspaces-capital-scheme

As detailed below, the Regional Museum Exhibition Scheme (RMES) is designed to promote and enhance local and regional museums by providing financial support for capital exhibition costs. The scheme operates on a matched funding basis of 75:25, meaning that applicants must contribute 25% of the proposed costs. The maximum grant available to any successful applicant is €15,000.
