I have consulted with the National Library of Ireland on this matter and the NLI holdings include other letters relating to the Catalpa Rescue. These manuscripts form part of the John Devoy Papers. John Devoy, Fenian and journalist, was also exiled in New York City during the time of the rescue. Digitised versions of the manuscripts are available on the National Library of Ireland website.

The National Library of Ireland will endeavour to put on a focus display in 2026 of collection material relating to the Catalpa Rescue and highlight this historical event through its communications channels.

The National Library lends materials from its collections for temporary exhibitions in Ireland and overseas. Requests for a loan of material is contingent on the submission of an application and conditions of loan such as those of environmental and security. Where it is not possible to loan original material, the National Library will provide surrogates.
