184. Deputy Emer Currie asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration if Garda members can now access driving licence photographs at roadside checkpoints on their mobility devices, from the National Vehicle and Driver File database. [15434/26]
View answerI have been advised by the Garda authorities that, at present, Garda personnel do not have any access to driving license photographs from the National Vehicle and Driver File database on their Garda Mobility devices.
However, the Deputy may be interested to note that Garda authorities advise that there is ongoing dialogue between the Department of Transport and An Garda Síochána to further expand the extensive data sharing agreement to include the license photograph.
