The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána under Section 33 of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024.

An Garda Síochána have provided the below divisional breakdown of the number of vehicles detained under Section 41(c) of the Roads Traffic Act 1994 for having no valid motor tax for 2025 and up to 31 January 2026:
