In accordance with Civil Service policy, as set out in Circular 11/2013 - Revision of Working Hours and Flexible Working Arrangements for Civil Servants and the updated Circular 14/2022 - Revision of Working Hours in the Civil Service, access to flexitime is generally limited to staff up to and including the Higher Executive Officer (HEO) grade and equivalent grades. Assistant Principal Officers (APOs) who had access to flexitime as of 30 June 2013 may continue to avail of it. However, flexitime is not generally available to the grade of APOs and above.
Staff may apply to work remotely for up to three days per week, with all applications assessed on a case-by-case basis having regard to business needs. Seniority is not a consideration in assessing applications to avail of blended working in the Department.
