I propose to take Questions Nos. 705 and 706 together.

The Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holdings. TAMS 3 has proved to be extremely popular, with payments of over €155 million issued to farmers since payments commenced in June 2024.

The Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) is one of eleven schemes within TAMS 3. Under the SCIS, grant aid is provided to assist farmers in maximising their contribution to the production of renewable energy through the installation of Solar PV technology, together with battery storage. SCIS has proven to be very popular, with 5,887 applications received and 3,430 approvals issuing to date, allowing farmers to proceed with their investments.
