I can confirm that the department is in receipt of a proposal from the school in question to acquire additional land.

My department has approved an extension and refurbishment building project for the development of a 17-classroom primary school with 3 special educational needs classes at the school referred to by the Deputy.

This major project is currently at Stage 2(a) of architectural planning. The Stage 2a report was submitted to the department on 27th February 2026 and department officials will carry out a due diligence review in due course. The department is satisfied that this development is feasible on the school’s existing Patron owned site.

Any proposal to acquire additional land to extend the school site to provide recreational space is a matter for the school Patron as owner of the site.
