446. Deputy Claire Kerrane asked the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality the estimated full year cost of increasing the foster care allowance by €1. [46689/26]

Foster carers play a vital role in enabling our most vulnerable children to live in a safe, secure and stable home environment. The foster care allowance was last increased at the end of 2024, meaning that foster carers now receive between €20,800 and €22,100 per year for each child in their care, depending on the age of the child.

The table below sets out the full year cost of increasing the foster care allowance by €1.
