Sexual health is a priority for the Department of Health. The National Sexual Health Strategy, 2025-2035 (NSHS) and National Sexual Health Action Plan, 2025-2038 (NSHAP), commit to developing a Model of Care for sexual health.

The NSHS and NSHAP (included in one document) can be accessed at the following link: www.gov.ie/en/healthy-ireland/policy-information/national-sexual-health-strategy-2025-2035/.

The Model of Care for Sexual Health is being developed by the HSE Sexual Health Programme. It is our understanding that it will be published at some point in Q3-4, 2026

However, as the HSE will have more detail and as this is a service matter, I have asked the HSE to respond directly to the Deputy, as soon as possible.
