195. Deputy Pa Daly asked the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment to provide a breakdown of the funding provided to the Irish Environmental Network in each of the years 2020 to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [50402/26]
View answerA breakdown of the funding provided by my Department to the Irish Environmental Network (IEN) in each year since 2020 is supplied in the attached table. The IEN is an umbrella organisation of 41 nationally active environmental Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) who are involved in the well-being, protection and enhancement of the environment.
This funding supports the Government’s environmental goals of protecting and preserving the environment. It facilitates education and awareness building to support the transition to a sustainable economy and society, and enables people and communities to participate in climate action.
