View answerUnder the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the operation of the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS).
I am informed by the RSA that the NDLS offers a range of services through its online portal including applications for renewals of driving licences, applications for first-time learner permits and driving licences, applications for replacements, updates to personal details and the exchange of foreign driving licences for Irish driving licences.
Information on renewing a driving licence online, including the documentation required, is available on the NDLS website at www.ndls.ie/licensed-driver/renew-my-driving-licence.html.
Applicants who do not wish to avail of the online service can apply in person at an NDLS centre.
