View answerBus Éireann is responsible for the planning, timetabling of school transport routes and issuing of tickets on behalf of the Department of Education and Youth.
Bus Éireann have advised that the route referred to by the Deputy was due to commence at the beginning of the school year. However, due to a contractual matter that could no longer be fulfilled by the operator a new contractor was required. A new contractor has now been sourced, and this service is due to commence on Monday 28 September 2026.
Bus Éireann have further advised that there are 27 tickets issued for this service, and the school and families have been notified of the commencement date of this service.
