Each month, the Government reports on the money collected and spent by central government in the Department of Finance’s Fiscal Monitors. The Fiscal Monitor is therefore the most important document for tracking in-year spending on public services against profile.
On this page you will find the PBO’s monthly publication series which deciphers and analyses the Fiscal Monitor’s content. This series highlights areas of importance and emerging trends and adds context to the high-level data of the Fiscal Monitor. All the analysis produced by the PBO is independent and impartial.
