Dáil Éireann Debate, Tuesday - 27 January 2026
271. Deputy Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh asked the Minister for Defence if all Air Corps helicopters are fully capable of night time reconnaissance during heavy intensive poor weather conditions, such as snow and so on. [5834/26]
View answerMy priority as Minister for Defence is to ensure that the operational capability of the Army, Air Corps and Naval Service is maintained and developed in order to retain a flexible response for a wide range of operational requirements, as assigned by Government.
Air Corps rotary wing aircraft are capable of poor weather night-time operations, including surveillance missions, should the operational need arise.
