Members’ offices

Office areas are allocated to each political party or group by the Ceann Comhairle. Each Whip then allocates individual offices in respect of their party or group. Independent Members are represented by the coordinator for the Independent group of which they are a member or directly assigned by the Ceann Comhairle.

Once an office has been assigned, the facilities management unit coordinates the preparation of the office for occupation by the Member. Best efforts are made to have offices allocated by the first sitting day but this is not always possible as some delays are often caused waiting for outgoing Members to vacate offices. Following the 2024 general election, there may be additional delays due to the increase in membership of the Dáil.

Services

Office services such as furniture, cleaning, waste management, lighting, heat, and decoration are also provided. Routine maintenance requests should be made through the facilities management unit. Requests for significant work should be submitted through the party Whip to the facilities manager.
