124 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of children awaiting assessment in respect of speech therapy; the average waiting time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13184/00]

127 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of speech therapists employed by the Southern Health Board in the Cork region; the number of children awaiting speech therapy and or assessment in the Cork region; the plans, if any, he has to further develop the service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13191/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 124 and 127 together.

The provision of services to persons with a physical or sensory disability in the Cork region is the responsibility of the Southern Health Board. Accordingly, the Deputy's questions have been referred to the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board with a request that he examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
