Dáil Éireann Debate, Thursday - 5 December 2013
85. Deputy Seán Crowe asked the Minister for Education and Skills if he will confirm that a new site has been identified for purchase for a school (details supplied) in Dublin 24; the approximate timescale envisaged for this process; and when parents and teachers from the school may expect a new build to be approved once the site is secured. [52230/13]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, my Department is working closely with the relevant Local Authority in relation to identifying and acquiring a suitable site for the provision of permanent accommodation for the school to which he refers. Given the sensitivities associated with land acquisitions generally, I am not in a position to comment further at this point in time. The 5 year school building plan which I announced in 2012, outlines the major school projects that will commence construction over the duration of the plan. The school referred to by the Deputy is included in this plan.
