Ceisteanna (341)

Catherine Martin

Ceist:

341. Deputy Catherine Martin asked the Minister for Health to outline his views regarding the crisis in mental health services in the south east; the way in which he plans to remedy the dangerous situation in the department of psychiatry at St. Luke’s Hospital, in which at-risk patients are sleeping on chairs due to overcrowding and lack of appropriate step-down outpatient facilities and waiting lists for psychology, child and adolescent mental health services and other services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
