I refer to Parliamentary Question Number 359 which was for answer on 7 February 2024, in which you asked for “the amount spent on legal costs or legal services in each of the past ten years and to date in 2024. As you may recall, the information you requested was not available at that time and I undertook to contact you again when the information was to hand.
The information requested is provided below.
Details of the expenditure recorded on my Department’s financial management system for legal costs or legal services in each of the years outlined, are provided in the table below. These legal costs relate primarily to third party costs arising from judicial reviews against the immigration service of my Department.
