346. Deputy Mick Barry asked the Minister for Justice further to Parliamentary Question No. 512 of 7 March 2023, and a subsequent reply (details supplied), if she will report on progress on the payment of an ex-gratia payment to a person; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8978/24]

The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 51.
I refer to your Parliamentary Question No 346 which was for answer on 27/02/2024 and which asked: "To ask the Minister for Justice further to Parliamentary Question No. 512 of 7 March 2023, and a subsequent reply (details supplied), if she will report on progress on the payment of an ex-gratia payment to a person; and if she will make a statement on the matter."
As you will recall, the information you requested could not be obtained in the time available and I undertook to contact you again.
I have since been informed that this matter remains under consideration by An Garda
Síochána and is currently being progressed by their legal representatives.
