I have sought the information requested by the Deputy from An Garda Síochána, however, this information has not yet been received in time. I will write to the Deputy directly once it is to hand.
The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 51.
I refer to your Parliamentary Question No. 492 of 21 May 2024 asking, further to Parliamentary Question No. 862 of 9 April 2024, if I have received the necessary information from the Garda authorities in order to answer the question and if I will make a statement on the matter. I also refer to Parliamentary Questions No. 504 of 30 April 2024 asking further to Parliamentary Question No. 862 of 9 April 2024, if I have received the necessary information from the Garda authorities to have this PQ answered and if I will make a statement on the matter and Parliamentary Question No. 862 of 9 April 2024 asking the number of incidents of suspected needle spiking reported to Gardaí in 2023 and to-date in 2024, in tabular form; and if I will make a statement on the matter. You will recall that at the time, I was informed by the Garda authorities that a proactive publication on all spiking incidents was being finalised.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the proactive publication on spiking is now available on the Garda website on the link below:
