It has not been possible to collate and examine all the information requested by the Deputy in the time available. I will write to the Deputy directly once the information is to hand.

The following deferred reply was received under Standing Order 51:
I refer to Parliamentary Question No. 232 of 23 May 2024 where you sought:
“To ask the Minister for Justice the number of fixed charge speeding notices issued and paid, by Garda division, by month, for 2023 and to date in 2024; and if she will make a statement on the matter.”
As you will recall, I sought the information from the Garda authorities and undertook to contact you again once the information was to hand.
As you will be aware, under the Garda Síochána Act 2005, the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the administration and management of An Garda Síochána, including the recording of traffic offences, collisions and seizures of vehicles.
As Minister, I have no direct role in these matters.
The Garda authorities have provided me with the below table, which provides a breakdown by Garda Division of the number of Fixed Charge Notices issued per month for speeding in 2023.
