Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Justice her views on and those of her Department to claims made (details supplied) that credit servicers are falsely registering as owners of properties through the Land Registry, given they are not the loan originators; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraLand Registry falls under the responsibility of Tailte Eireann, who provide a property registration system, property valuation service, and national mapping and surveying infrastructure for the State.
The matter raised by the Deputy are management matters for Tailte Éireann, which is an independent Government agency under the aegis of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
