Ceisteanna (93)

Noel Grealish

Ceist:

93. Deputy Noel Grealish asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications the reason the western lakes management plan has not been published by Inland Fisheries Ireland to date after two rounds of public consultations over two calendar years, bearing in mind that the proposed plan was instigated at his request; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department requested that Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) prepare a plan for the long-term management of our western lakes to deliver on the Programme for Government commitment.

Following an extensive IFI public consultation process, this plan was then advanced by IFI through the Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment processes and a series of recommendations will soon be presented by IFI for my approval.
