Amharc ar fhreagraDrug and Alcohol Task Forces receive annual funding from the Department of Health and the HSE. The latest available consolidated table of funding relates to 2019 to 2023 and is attached.
This table relates to core funding and does not include new development funding such as strategic health initiatives, Community Services Enhancement Fund, Inflation Fund, and Existing Level of Service Funding.
Allocations to Drug and Alcohol Task Forces
In Budget 2024, the department secured an additional €4m to implement the national drugs strategy. The funding will be used to develop new services for young people with drug dependency and mental health issues, to expand community-based drug services for existing and emerging drug trends, to support people in recovery and to provide services for people with problem gambling and gaming. This funding is in addition to €5.75m recurring in 2023.
I have attached the Budget 2024 Factsheet.
