Ceisteanna (383)

Thomas Pringle

Ceist:

383. Deputy Thomas Pringle asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of children adopted into the State through the intercountry adoption process in each of the past 20 years where a condition (details supplied) was noted on the birth record, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Adoption Authority of Ireland (AAI) is, in line with The Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption, the ‘Central Authority’ for intercountry adoption in Ireland. I have therefore referred the Deputy's question to the AAI for direct response.
