Deputy Marian Harkin asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform if he will provide details of the monies spent by the OPW in procuring lands, sites or houses of historical/archaeological significance, on either a county or a regional basis in the past ten years, in tabular form. OPW manages a large portfolio of heritage sites comprising of 32 National Historic Properties, some 780 national monuments and 5,000 acres of designed landscapes gardens and parklands.

The table below sets out properties acquired by the Office of Public Works in the past 10 years – from May 2014 to May 2024.

The purchase cost figure where provided refers to the amount paid by the OPW.
