The Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science is responsible for student accommodation. That Department has advised me that a research report by Frank Knight in September 2023 on Student Housing in Ireland indicated that there were 7,200 PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation) beds in Cork. Further information on this matter may be available from the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
