731. Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education for an update on an additional accommodation application for a school (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [32260/24]
Amharc ar fhreagraI wish to advise the Deputy, that my department has no current record of receiving an application for under the department's additional school accommodation (ASA) scheme from the school in question.
The purpose of the ASA scheme is to ensure that essential mainstream classroom and Special Education Needs (SEN) accommodation is available to cater for pupils enrolled each year, where the need cannot be met by the school’s existing accommodation.
With regard to the school's major project, my department can confirm that the Stage 2b architectural report has been received and reviewed by my department. Following the outcome of this review, I am very pleased to advise that officials in my department very recently reverted to the school authority and instructed them directly in relation to the next steps to progress this significant project.
