426. Deputy Niall Collins asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform the status of the Newcastle West Garda station in relation to the build; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [35035/24]
Amharc ar fhreagraI wish to inform the Deputy that a main contractor has been identified following a procurement competition and an evaluation of the Reserved Specialists is currently underway. Once this has been completed then a contract will be placed and it is anticipated following approval of the final business case that construction will begin on site in Q4 2024. The construction period will be 91 weeks.
Enabling works for this project including the demolition of the previous station on the site has been completed.
